Hey! someone said ducks. Just thinking about those runner
ducks gives my day a boost. We have been talking about
getting ducks again and it is a "given" that some will be
runner ducks.
There are several duck suppliers in this area but i've not
keep the data. What i do is ask the local feed store to
order them. It is nice because they combine orders and this
allows people to get a mix of animals at a good price. I'll
email you their locations.
I sure hope the small farmers and feed stores survive in this
area. Some growth is starting and i've watched many of the
other areas change. West of Portland there were several feed
stores, large animal vets, and a slaughter house that served
small farmers. Most of it is gone now. Sigh.. Small farmers
demonstrate one path that can be ecological. It could also
be rewarding and enjoyable if supported by local culture/economics.
