I answer:
Maps list the general area as zone 5, but  most locals reguard it as 4.  I
especially live in a notorious frost pocket on a NE slope in the
woods.(which however can be good for late flowering  on fruit.)  Most
summers are plain  "not all that hot".  But a number of my friends regard
peaches easier to grow than apples with minimal care.  I pick my varieties
carefully but this Jan was coldest month in 10 years  and after 3 previous
mild winters  Spring will tell.  I saw a -26 once when 10 or 11  but no
lower than -12 the past 4 winters.
