The following are notes from a short course on sustainable
living. Much of the material appears similar to ideas about
simple-living and the New Road Map Foundation.

Definition of sustainable living. - satisfying life
                                  - appealing life
                                  - environmentally responsible

The typical native peoples habitat has three components.
  - culture
  - environment
  - spiritual

The typical industrial society has a different focus
  - culture
  - environment
  - economics

It is true that religion exists in industrial society but
people relate to economics first and religion is more
social.

In America about 15-18 percent of the people practice some
form of voluntary simplicity. Political analysts say a
country begins to change when 25 percent of the people believe
in an idea.

Sustainable living is non competitive. Each person has a different
definition and position in life.

The barriers to a quality life are: - time
                                    - consumption
                                    - spiritual disconnect

Kids today do not spent time playing, they are entertained. This
is a problem because play is where kid learn about themselves.
