The Renault sounds interesting. Unfortunately they seem to have abandoned the US and sell mostly to Europe. Also some of their engines are diesel which is another problem. The diesel engines do get much better milage but they also pollute more. What makes sense to me is to add more diversity to our choices. Small three wheel vehicles work better in cities and for occasional drives on the highway. Another option is to get serious about refurbishing older vehicles. Today, we constantly create new styles and obsolete older vehicles. Parts are expensive and repair costs are high so off we go to the new car showroom... It was interesting to see what happened in Cuba when the US applied its embargo. They kept the old cars running for the next 20 years. jeff (thinking about spring and sun warmed earth)
