Ah... planting trees is a great activity.  One can watch the
tree grow and enjoy the nurturing feeling for years.  If it is
a nut or fruit tree there is an added bonus.  Even the leaves
can be a fun to watch or utilize for compost.

My joy is a nut orchard with most of the nuts that grow in this
area.  Someday i hope to turn this into a forest garden but for
now i'm just waiting till the trees get big enough to create an
understory.  It has been a 12 year wait and now my eyesight is
beginning to fail so i may not see this project to the end, but
caring for these trees has been worth the time.  The sad news is
that we may need to sell all this and it will be like losing a
good friend.
