I've got eCos devices that have DHCP enabled. Can anyone suggest a robust method for finding the IP address of the eCos devices?
Currently we hook up a serial cable and either set the IP or read of the DHCP IP. The DHCP server log is not available in the field. This is less than ideal since it requires terminal software(hyperterminal is gone from vista) and a serial cable(far from all PC's have a serial port these days). - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arping - can't find a good implemenation for Windows and I'm not sure how robust this under Linux - ping <devicename>. Here the device would need to broadcast a name that Windows and Linux could pick up. Is this possible? Any clues would be greatly appreciated! -- Øyvind Harboe http://www.zylin.com/zy1000.html ARM7 ARM9 XScale Cortex JTAG debugger and flash programmer -- Before posting, please read the FAQ: http://ecos.sourceware.org/fom/ecos and search the list archive: http://ecos.sourceware.org/ml/ecos-discuss
