The key escrow components should only build if Python and SWIG are both installed on the build system. I tested with and without Python devel on Gentoo and Fedora, so I do not anticipate any build issues on Ubuntu either. The Python scripts for the server and client should not install at this point since there are no Makefile rules to faciliate that. With Python and SWIG, you should only get the libecryptfs wrapper (_libecryptfs.so) installed.
