Kubuntu Feisty, 7.04

I've successfully installed ecryptfs and configured it to encrypt my home
folder. I've two issues:
a) login at screensaver results in long pause but login is successfull
b) after shutdown CPU and hard drive keeps running (ctrl+alt+F1 (etc.) results
in an unresponsive login prompt)

I've tried to address a) by following these troubleshooting steps:
Problem: Attempts to authenticate to the gnome-screensaver
      application result in a long pause and a failed attempt.

            Solution: Your PAM stack is not set up correctly. Make
            certain that /etc/pam.d/gnome-screensaver does not point
            to a file in the auth context that includes
            pam_ecryptfs.so.

I've modified 'kscreensaver' as follows:
#
# /etc/pam.d/kscreensaver - specify the PAM behaviour of kscreensaver
#
# @include common-auth
@include common-account
@include common-password
@include common-session

I've checked the syslog hoping to find some answers on how to resolve b), but
I don't see anything out of the ordinary.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
