Bug description:
Binary package hint: ecryptfs-utils

As of now (Intrepid Beta 8.10), the Private directory gets a shiny icon on the
desktop. Unfortunately, it is always on the desktop and is in fact impossible
to remove. Why can this icon be turned off? This seems intuitive, especially
for people who
a: don't like desktop icons cluttering the workspace (but do want to see
mounted directories)
or b: don't want to declare to the world that they have a Private directory.

The current workaround is to disable the icons for all future mounted
directories.
$ gconftool-2 -s  --type bool  /apps/nautilus/desktop/volumes_visible  false

This is less than ideal, as users such as myself will want to see other
directories that we mount.
