Updated patch attached. I have updated the patch based on a security review of the code for bug #283477 by Jamie Strandboge.
The attached patch includes fixes for bug #272232, as well as bug #259293. I have uploaded a package for testing in my PPA. I'm satisfied with my testing of both patches. I will be committing both of these patches to the ecryptfs upstream project. I'm requesting sponsorship for Intrepid now. This patch is also attached to bug #272232. :-Dustin ** Attachment added: "ecryptfs-utils.272232b.debdiff" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18695852/ecryptfs-utils.272232b.debdiff -- Ecryptfs Private Directory Randomly Unmounts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259293 You received this bug notification because you are a member of eCryptfs, which is subscribed to ecryptfs-utils in ubuntu. Status in “ecryptfs-utils” source package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: Binary package hint: libecryptfs0 On my Asus EEE901, I have set up an encrypted private directory as per instructions on one of the developers blogs. It works perfectly, except that it seems to randomly unmount - it seems to be triggered by shutting the lid, but not always. This is Ubuntu Intrepid, all updates current, KDE desktop. All there is within my Private folder is .ssh/, .gnupg/, .opera/, and Documents/ all symlinked to the same name in my home folder. It's possible that this is by design that it unmounts when you leave your laptop, but if so this is redundant as it can be remounted immediately by using the mount.ecryptfs_private command without password prompting. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ecryptfs Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ecryptfs More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
