Why are you trying to type ecryptfs-unwrap-passphrase? This window is, in fact, running ecryptfs-unwrap-passphrase for you. You're looking at the passphrase prompt from ecryptfs-unwrap-passphrase.
You should be entering your system login passphrase. When you do so correctly, ecryptfs-unwrap-passphrase will then print your randomly generated mount passphrase to screen. :-Dustin ** Changed in: ecryptfs-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: ecryptfs-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => Low -- terminal displays nothing when trying to record passphrase https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of eCryptfs, which is subscribed to ecryptfs-utils in ubuntu.
