I found the flaw it's in the wording and also Kubuntu. With Kubuntu it only opens a standard terminal. Which means you need to type in the ecryptfs-unwrap-passphrase command.
It may be better if the last line was to read thus: Please type in you user password to show your ecrypt-passphrase at the "Passphrase:" prompt or type in ecrpytfs-unwrap-passphrase in a regular terminal session. ** Attachment added: "ecryptfs.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/32142030/ecryptfs.png -- terminal displays nothing when trying to record passphrase https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of eCryptfs, which is subscribed to ecryptfs-utils in ubuntu. Status in “ecryptfs-utils” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: ecryptfs-utils On ubuntu after the desktop appears for the first time you get a popup window that asks you to record your encrypted passphrase. If you click on run this action now you get a terminal window appear with the word "passphrase:" in it. However when you try to type in ecryptfs-unwrap-passphrase at this prompt no test is shown. When you hit return after typing it in the terminal window just closes. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ecryptfs Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ecryptfs More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
