Just wanted to add my name as someone who's been affected by this bug. The calendarserver package creates long filenames, and trying to store these on an eCryptfs filesystem fails with a "File name too long" error. I am going to look into storing the filenames unencrypted, but if someone were to store the real filename in the header (as suggested above), I would certainly see that as a superior solution.
