ECS is the only package I have actually used for servlet code and I find
it's performance to be acceptable on my Apache server but it is running on a
4 (MIPS 10K) proc SGI box. I use it for database work and I believe that
most of the pausing that I see in terms of returning results sets with ECS
from Oracle is on the database side and not due to Java or ECS. We have
other developers using the package here and they haven't expressed any
problems in terms of memory useage or speed. Although I will admit we tend
to be spoiled in terms of memory. Most of our boxes have 1GB of memory
minimum. God, I love working for a digital effects house...Just an FYI.
