make sure you download the files as binary.

the md5 files are hashes of the originals in order to prove that they are
authentic. for example, download the file, then on your unix box, type:

md5 ecs-1.3.3.tar.gz

if the output is the same as the .md5 file on apache.org, then you are fine.
if it isn't, then something with the transfer of the file from us to you is
messed up. if you don't have md5 installed on your unix box, then you will
need to find it on the net and install it.

the scripts are just junk that i wrote to make my life easier. you don't
need them.
