What makes WebMacro, Freemarker, or Velocity better than ECS for servlets?  ECS has 
worked fine for me.

If you are doing servlets, we have learned that ECS really isn't the right
way to do them. The right way is to use Turbine + a template language such
as WebMacro, Freemarker or Velocity.

I'm not saying that ECS isn't useful, I'm just saying that it definitely has
a "place".
