There's a new archive for the EDI-L mailing list at
http://www.mail-archive.com/edi-l%40listserv.ucop.edu/. Having archives
available makes it convenient for those, like me, who prefer to keep
their in-box clean, yet still allow one to pull up old messages for
cutting and pasting together quotes which misrepresent the positions of
their political enemies.

The service is slow, in that messages often take hours, or even up to a
day, to get posted to the archive. But it is free and seems to be
reliable. The messages can be broken out by thread or date order for
your viewing pleasure. This may be a more convenient way to access
messages from the previous day than the diary option used by many EDI-L
subscribers.

Keep in mind that the archives at www.deja.com for the
bit.listserv.edi-L newsgroup, reiterated in the banner of each EDI-L
message, are obsolete. The mail-to-news gateway at American University,
which used to take every message sent to EDI-L (make that "a random
sampling" since it was pretty unreliable) and post it to
bit.listserv.edi-l, has been out of operation for almost a year since
American University removed their VM system.
