Riddle: When is a VAN not a VAN? Answer: when it's an "eBusiness hub."

And in this riddle is the answer to the VANs' conundrum. See Monday's
press release on the launch of Viacore, Inc. at
http://www.viacore.net/pressroom/jan242000.html. If only the VANs could
write press releases this good, their vexing image problems would be
over. Some excerpts:

"Viacore, Inc., an eBusiness service provider of a reliable and
transparent eBusiness hub to enable the rapid and cost-effective
deployment of business processes between trading partners in the
Information Technology (IT) supply chain."

"The Viacore PIP hub will be at the center of a global supply web
allowing faster "many-to-many" PIP deployments instead of slower and
less cost-effective "point-to-point" implementations for the entire IT
supply chain including large and small manufacturers and resellers. In
addition to faster and more pervasive deployment, the Viacore PIP hub
will offer 24x7 global, real-time command and control of supply chain
processes, cost-effective management, flexibility to connect to or
disconnect from partners, and comprehensive reporting and benchmarking."
