In order to refresh our understanding of the capabilities and limitations
of the current EDI translator/EAI offerings, plaNet is in the process of
reviewing several current offerings. Judging from comments over the past
several months several participants of this list service have undertaken
similar comparisons. We would like to compare notes on the evaluation
criteria used in such studies, and are willing to share those that we have
developed. We would also like to exchange observations/impressions about
the products, but only on a functional basis (that is, exclusive of price
and licensing strategies). Our interest is on the more robust
applications, NT or Unix only, current versions only; EDI is an important
component, but are also looking for many-to-many capability. Any list
member who is interested in discussing further, please contact me directly
(that is, outside the list service).
