Client: A Major Services Company in Danbury Ct
EDI Analyst:
*Responsible for development and implementation of EC/EDI
related systems. Includes working in cross-functional environments from both a
business & technical perspective to ensure that corporate objective in
EC/EDI are met.
*Research D/B structures common business practices, and
operational procedures to identify areas of EDI incompatibility.
*Interacts with functional business area to communicate &
promote EC/EDI strategies & systems requirements.
*Assists EC/EDI Manager in organizational planning.
Writes detailed descriptions of user needs
*Assists in development of trading partner agreements &
implementation
*Instructs EDI systems users in proper operation of new or
modified application processes
*Participates in systems acceptance and testing as well as
technical reviews
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in CIS or related experience
7 years hands-on EDI development experience
Complete understanding of EC/EDI technologies &
architecture
Hands-on data mapping experience
Competent in the use of M/S Office Products (Word, Excel,
Power point & MS Project)
Technical experience:
EDI translators, PaperFree, Sterling Mentor, Server or
Gentran, GEIS or others
Experience with major VANs using ANSI X.12 (EDIFACT a +)
MS Access or DB2 a +
Experience with PCs & IBM Mainframe
Other desired experience with: Cleo, SQL, Crystal Reports,
TCP/IP, Rumba, FTP, Internet/intranet
Languages: COBOL/CICS, C++, Vis. Basic
Operating Systems: NT, IBM MVS
EDI Technician
Installs & maintains EC/EDI translation software &
mapping utilities. Performs transitions and upgrades to new versions &
releases.
Monitors day-to day operations of all EC/EDI processes,
verifies accurate completion & resolves issues
Programs & executes manual transmissions on an as required
basis.
Handles. all translator issues, mapping, updating, trading
partner profiles
Interfaces with technical staff, VANs T/Ps, including managing
relationships.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in CIS or related experience
5 years hands-on EDI systems development experience, including
2 years of mapping and a strong knowledge of standards
Technical experience:
Same as EDI analyst.
