Joe Mccoy, of Electronic Commerce Information Systems, asked for the
scheduled release dates of both the ANSI/VICS 4020 and 4030 standards.

Dear Joe:

You can find the publication dates for the X12 standards in the DISA
Online Publications Catalog at http://www.x12.org/. DISA publishes an
annual release of the standards each December. The release contains all
Draft Standards for Trial Use (DSTUs) approved for publication through
the preceding October meeting of ASC X12. Twice each year, after the
February and June ASC X12 meetings, DISA publishes subreleases
containing the complete X12 Standard, including DSTUs approved for
publication at those meetings. Release 4030 is shown as having been
published in December 1999, and Release 4020 in December 1998. These
reflect the maintenance approved from the previous Octobers.

Alternatively, you can just bring up the EDISIM Standards Reference,
open up one of the newer X12 standards, and look up the code values for
D.E. 480 (Version / Release / Industry Identifier Code). Each code,
designating a Version, Release and Sub-Release (e.g., 004020), is
accompanied by a description which includes the approved maintenance
date. For example, given 004020, the description is "Draft Standards
Approved for Publication by ASC X12 Procedures Review Board through
October 1998." Add two or so months for the publication process to
estimate the issue date of December 1998 I mentioned above.
