John,
I would highly recommend Mercator. (www.Mercator.com). The company has
renamed the product line and itself. I won't bore you with the name changes.
Nevertheless, it is one of the strongest transformation products out there. In
fact, over 100 other companies embed the Mercator engine into their product
line. It can easily access DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc via native drivers or
via ODBC. They also easily work with email, flat files, message ques, HTTP, ...
it is a long list. I believe that the only down side to the product is
debugging. The product produces an audit log and a trace file. If you have to
dive into the trace, it takes a while to understand it at first and it produces
a lot of data to go through.
