Hi Colette,
The only really multi-lingual dictionary in the EDI world is as far as
i know the UN/EDIFACT D.96A based EANCOM97 (R) subset. It was
translated into Spanish, French, German. All the language (and
country) specific versions are available from the national EAN
organisations: AECOC (www.eacoc.es), GENCOD (www.gencod-ean.fr), CCG
(www.ccg.de).
A bi-lingual (EN/DE) collection of ALL UN/EDIFACT directories back to
89.2 is available here in Germany as "DIN/EDIFACT Normdatenbank".
B.t.w. are you aware of http://www.gefeg.com/edifact ? There you find
the last 4 EDIFACT directories + Syntax . for free. The other data
have prices as far as I know.
All data mentioned here is also available (and given added value) in
the World's leading pre-EDI software GEFEG EDIFIX, which is being used
to create EANCOM (R) and our "EDIFACT on the Web". Grown up in the
multi-cultural European environment GEFEG EDIFIX not only maintains
EDI standards/specs in multiple languages, it also supports multiple
EDI standards (incl. X12, TRADACOMS, SAP IDocs, ....) and prints
everything out in multiple, 100% customizable, culture-specific
layouts. Living in the era of globalisation "culture-specific" here
means even "business culture specific", e.g. you could create reports
in the colors, fonts, designs which are specific for Softshare or for
your customers. If you are sited outside the Euro zone, buy it know,
the Euro is not too strong presently ;-)
Best regards,
Frank Dreisch

Subject: Multi-Lingual Dictionaries
I was wondering if there is an archive available anywhere of the
complete
ANSI X12 Dictionaries and UN/EDIFACT directories (all versions) in
languages
other than English. In particular I am interested in a Spanish
version of
the dictionaries but all other languages would be welcome too.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to
everyone!
