Mercator's product is one of the best available in the marketplace for what
it does. The quality of Mercator's product line is not in question as a
result of the securities fraud complaint, only the financial management of
the company. Even if Mercator were to be acquired, it wouldn't be the end of
the world. Over the last 15 years we've seen dozens, if not hundreds, of
acquisitions and mergers of many fine EDI and electronic commerce companies,
MetroMark by Sterling, Sears Advantis by IBM, Premenos by Harbinger, Supply
Tech by Harbinger, and so on. This is the nature of the game.
I would just perform due dilligence regarding ongoing and responsive
customer support to ensure that you'll be appropriate supported during and
after your implementation.

Is this the end of Mercator as we know it? Could this open the door for
someone
to buy them? In this day and age it seems like the popular thing to do (that
is
to buy the wounded ducks of EC software providers).
Whats the lists thoughts on Mercator in general. I am in a project
implementing
the software as we speak.
