Title: Gentran Server for NT problem

I am in the process of upgrading from Gentran Server for NT 2.1.1 to Gentran Server for NT 3.01.  I am installing this on a new server.

Our data is FTP'd from an AS400 to the EDI server as a flat file.  One of these files contains outbound 830 data.  There is some data in this file that there is no partner/830 document relationship set up for.  the command GDW_Import is run to import this data into Gentran Server.  In version 2.1.1 an error message would be written to the audit log and the import process would continue.  In version 3.01 the import process gets to this data and loops continuously creating thousands of audit log entries and thousands of invalid documents in the red outbox.  The only way I have been able to stop this process is to restart the server.

Sterling Helpdesks answer for this problem is to set up the trading partner/ 830 document relationship and point it to a mailbox that does not get sent out.

This data should not be being sent from the AS400, and removing this data from the flat file does solve the problem.  However this situation could occur at any time if a change was made on the AS400 and not changed at the same time in Gentran.

Does anyone have any other solution to this problem besides the Sterling Helpdesk solution.
