If you go to this site www.CommunityB2B.com and read their 'B2B
Fundamentals' white paper Under item 3. bullet point EDI, it states that EDI
has no standards and implies that XML does.
Does anyone have any idea which research and marketing firm they could have
gotten this morsel of brilliance? Or, Did they just not bother to do any
research at all?

Granted! Their purpose is to promote the use of XML, but there is no way
that XML without application/adherence of the EDI standards will replace the
process of traditional EDI.

Do they not get that XML is just a means of formatting the data, and that
what makes EDI is the standards that it uses? XML without some sort of
standards to adhere to is just fancy HTML, and completely useless in the EDI
arena.

Now I'll get off the soap box!
