Hiya,
Dunno if this is indeed the problem, but check your data flag. i.e. when you
populate the element with 'A', do not set the data flag. Only if data flag
is set in any element does translator actually write the segment. Thus if
you only set it when you populate the value field, you should be OK.
HTH
Cheers
Michael

Subject: Harbinger Trusted Line eV5
We recently upgraded our AS/400 EDI software from release 2.11 to the new
eV5 version of Harbinger TrustedLink. All in all the conversion hasn't been
too bad. I'm pleased with the way the new mapping features work, except for
a few changes.
When mapping the 810 (outbound) we sometimes need to use the SAC segment to
denote allowances. The SAC01 was always "hard coded" to 'A' for allowance.
Now whenever I generate an 810 it tries to create an SAC segment even if the
appropriate file is empty. Supposidly it's because the SAC01 is mandatory
if the segment is is hard coded, it's assumed that it is used. Now I get
SAC segments with 0 dollars and other missing elements....under release 2.11
this worked fine the SAC only generated when detail was in the file.
Does anyone else use the new eV5 with outbound 810s and SAC segements?
Thanks,
April
