I have been reading some of the postings here about EDI not being able to be sent in a
secured manner over the internet. We are sending roughly 1.5 million to 1.6 million
EDI transactions a month over the internet using the Gisb and PGP protocols.

The process is all automated on our side from creating legacy data, processing thru
the translator, selecting the right pgp keys to use for encryption, and then sending
the documents to the trading partners. We receive back notices when the documents are
sent letting us know success or failures of the http postings.

So whether the documents are XML or EDI, we feel that they are secured going over
internet.
