The mission for any EC Department is the same as the mission for any
accounting department, sales department, service department, janitorial
department, truck-driving department or water-cooler-refilling department:
to support the TRUE business of the organization, be that making widgets,
selling life insurance or even telemarketing.
If you are talking not of a "mission statement," but rather a "specific
responsibilities list," I thought that was the purpose for which management
existed.
