Hi Guys,

Paul writes " . . . but I thought it was for help with EDI/XML questions."

William Kammerer DID help with the EDI/XML question, which was, of course,
'In the EDI/XML Bible, who makes the rules?'

Well, as all of us dinosaurs know, it is the customer, of course. So, any
request that begins with the vendor moving all the way up from merely
mentioning a preference to dictating terms, it's high time for a little
levity in the response.

Remember, electronic commerce is not about the technology; it is actually the
expression of business requirements through the use of whatever means is
efficient (that just happens to be telecom-technology right now) so the "why
would I wanna do that?" weighs in well before "here's how to do it."

You go, Will.

<< As William, you know, of course, that I, too enjoy your ironic humor, don't
you? I would never want to see you stop, even thought sometime I, and
perhaps others, don't always catch it right away! Don't go away mad...and
 don't go away!

I disagree. Professional humor and spirited discussion is one of the things
that makes this list worth reading, and probably helps to bring people who
have the answers to read it. My take is that this list is for "all things
 EDI," not just the problems.

And please don't attempt to discourage Mr. Kammerer, as I enjoy his postings
 more than others.

 Thanks,
 Eric Moeller

 To All:
I am not sure who is in charge of this list but I thought it was
for help with EDI/XML questions.I really do not care if someone does not
want to buy their "Batman Band-Aids or tub of Crest from Wal-Mart" anymore
because they want you upgrade to X.12 004030. The question was "Is there a
website that shows [Wal-Mart's] requirements for prospective customers?" If
you cannot help them then do not reply.

 Thanks
