Thanks for your thoughts. I agree with you that CC can be misleading.
But, think of the possibilities for confusion in the format of the data in a
field called YYYY. Matt's experience at his last company is a good example
of this.
Someone else presented a number of date formats from EDIFACT that absolutely
require us to differentiate between the 1st two and the 2nd two digits of a
4-digit year.
Maybe CC isn't the best choice, but I think we have to have something other
than YY for the 1st two digits of a 4-digit year.
