We use ODBC to get from the NT TLE eV5.0 client to the Unix Sever ( Oracle
data base).
Some of the task required in order for the Client to connect to the server
database, via ODBC, were:
1. Establish database ID and permissions in network TNS Listener,
(your DBA and Network Admin should work together on this).
2. Establish database Driver on NT (this can be done when installing
TLE Ops Center or you can work with you Network Admin).
3. In "ODBC Data Source", setup "System DSN" linking database ID to
database Driver.
Note, if database is NOT recognized by TNS Listener, this process will NOT
work!
Note that if you are having to many problems with this installation, you
should have Harbinger walk you through the process. They should be able to
work with your Network Admin and DBA over the phone.
