I'm not sure if your "Unix support issues" are internal or external.
There's nothing uncommon about using Gentran: Server for Unix for EDI processing of SAP transactions using ALE.
We (DDL) have done installs, upgrades and enhancements for many, many Gentran shops.
Given the basic difference of the two environments (primarily batch oriented versus daemon processing oriented), Unix is much easier to maintain and add new transactions once built.

Subject: GENTRAN:Basic MVS vs. GENTRAN:Server Unix
I am new to GENTRAN:Server. Originaly, we were looking at migrating everything to it due to SAP and the ALE link. Now, due to some unix support issues, mangagement is considering going back to the mainframe. Please advise some pros and cons for the 2 above system
Thanks,
