One possibility is a missing new line after the last character in the
file, if your segment terminator is, or contains, a new line character or
sequence. Mercator is looking for the terminator and finds the end of data
instead, so complains that what it has found isn't in its list of
allowable terminators. The solution is to add the terminator into the
restriction list without the new line (or ask your EDI partner to send you
a correctly terminated file!)
I hope this helps.

Subject: [EDI-L] (end of data) HEX value?
Anyone out there using Mercator EC on the mainframe?
I'm trying to run a map, and get the following error:
('(end of data)...') not in RESTRICTION LIST of TERMINATOR TYPE
My problem is I can't find anywhere, the conversion of the (end of data)
code to put in my restriction list!
If this make sense to anyone, PLEASE PLEASE let me know!
THANKS in advance!
Debbie
