At an interview a few weeks ago, at a major consumer electronics company located in the approximate area of Secaucus New Jersey, I was asked "Can you explain the EDI record structure?"
I was laughing so hard that I didn't get the job, but I did spit coffee over both interviewers. Other favorites: "Define XML." "How do you create a trading partner?" "What is a six key lookup, and what does it open?" "Who wrote EDISIM and what does it do?" "Does Paperfree have printed manuals?" "Do you have ... " "No you don't, it's not on your resume." "Why don't you have ..." "Do you have at least ten years of Webmethods experience, Ten years of Powerbuilder, and functional knowledge of differential calculus?" "What operating system did you work on before DOS 1.0? You have to have at least two years of CP/M for this assignment." "Which way is west in space?"
