Hi,
In Gentran 4.0 on Windows, how do we access the system tables from Gentran
Database (lookup table). I am using the following statement to access the
lookup table: -
--------------------------------
string[22]temp_var1;
integer a;
select Text1 into temp_var1 from Partnerlookup where Tablename =
"HeaderPA"
and Item = "ID1";
a = atoi(temp_var1);
a = a + 1;
If a > 99999998 Then Begin a = 1; End
ntoa(a,temp_var1);
#HeaderId = "SFYICPA" + temp_var1;
update Partnerlookup set Text1 = temp_var1 where Tablename = "HeaderPA"
and
Item = "ID1";
-------------------
I want to know why do use "PartnerLookup" as the table name when actually there
is no table in the database with the same name.....If Gentran uses such lingo
where in the tables are accessed not with the actual name then can you give us
the details regarding how to access different tables in the database using this
Gentran lingo and whether we have some documentation for this subject. There is
a Database Guide in Gentran but it only gives a description of the tables in
the database and a brief description of the fields.
