I cannot remember if it was Albertson's or another "grocery" cust, but I do remember going through this same scenario. The Customer was sending the payment order AND Remittance Advice to the bank. The Customer was unwilling to either "fork" the Remittance Advice or redirect the remittance advice directly to the supplier. If I remember correctly, I ended up settling for an email copy of the remittance advice from the bank, which was then translated and loaded into the backend.
I have my doubts that the van will email you a copy of the rem advice.....Carbon Copy directed toward your mailbox maybe, but I'm sure you would have to pick up the tab for that. We are trying to get them set up and we are getting the run-around from our contacts at Albertsons. They sent us the specs which clearly identify the transactions as an 820 EDI document that we would receive at the time they did the ACH payments to us, but now they are saying that they don't send the remittance advice by EDI. The person we are dealing with there claims that they send the remittance advice with the ACH to the bank and somehow (they weren't clear and I don't understand how) that information will end up with our VAN (Inovis) who will then send it to us in an email. We spoke with Inovis technical support, and the person there said they have never heard of such an arrangement. When told this, the person at Albertsons said that we must have talked with the wrong person at Inovis since they (Albertsons) do this with other trading partners all the time. I know this all doesn't really sound reasonable, and I guess that's why I'm turning to this group to find out if anyone else has dealt with Albertsons on this issue. We seem to be at a stone wall with them, and nobody else we have talked with seems to understand what they are talking about. Any help or guidance from the group will be greatly appreciated.
