I have worked with many of the popular translators, but this is my
first time with EC Map. I am hoping there is someone on this list
that also uses this product and can give me some general direction on
how to handle situations that could potentially be solved using
arrays.

I have opened a case with Sybase and I am awaiting feedback, but I
know there must be someone out there that has run in to this problem.

I have a flat file --> EDI 855 map. The 855 has the SDQ segment in it.

My flat file has a repeating record that contains the fields that
will populate the SDQ. Here is an example of what that looks like:

PO1 Data....
SDQ StoreNo StoreQty
SDQ StoreNo StoreQty
SDQ StoreNo StoreQty
SDQ StoreNo StoreQty
SDQ StoreNo StoreQty
SDQ StoreNo StoreQty
PO1 Data.....
SDQ StoreNo StoreQty
etc.

In order to take this vertical record structure and populate a
horizontal EDI segment (the SDQ), I would typically create counters
and assign variables in an array, accumulating all of the SDQ's in
the flat file, and then writing them out each time I hit the
next "PO1 Data" record.

However, I understand arrays are not available in EC Map.

Anyone run in to this with the Sybase product ? If so, I would
greatly appreciate a general explanation on how to approach this
issue.

Thanks in advance,
Alice Raia
