Yeah, there are a couple of scenarios where that can happen. Being a company
that manages outsourced EDI for manufacturers (AS2, VAN, etc.) many times our
clients will ask us to connect them with a new trading partner. If they are
overseas, or if they are afraid to bug their buyer, or if someone just "forgets
to ask" they will often put the onus (sp?) on us.
Sucks, but that is often the situation. So... the two I ahve right now are
Creative Technology (Singapore) and Williams-Sonoma (San Fran)... anyone have
the information (contact/IG's)???

happens is the trading partner either loses the person who worked with you
or outsourced their "EDI department" AND didn't bother to notify their EDI
trading partners. Until a problem arises, you have no need to contact them.
I've had one trading partner have their area code change, their number and
company name change, and they outsourced their EDI, and everything kept
ticking along until their VAN munged up a transmission, then I couldn't
contact the partner because their switchboard receptionist didn't know
anything about their IT or EDI departments because they didn't have one.
