You shouldn't waste your money buying the "raw" UN/EDIFACT standards,
because they're free at http://www.unece.org/trade/untdid/ as Tracey
Robertson noted. But more importantly, you shouldn't waste your time
trying to read them unless you're an EDI software vendor or a standards
developer, since the EDIFACT standards are far too general and
open-ended. They'll do you very little good if you have real work to do
in exchanging real messages with real trading partners. Instead, you'll
need customized guidelines pertaining to your own industry, such as
EANCOM for retail, ITIGG for shipping, EDIFICE for the electronics
business, and so on.

Subject: [EDI-L] Where to buy EDIFACT specifications?

We are interested in purchasing the EDIFACT specifications, preferably
in a nice, readable format like PDF provided with bound manuals. Does
anyone know where those can be found?

Thanks,
Brian
