Can anyone out there let me know if there are any legal ramifications around NOT archiving raw EDI data? Reason being, we are going to a new ERP system (that has its own EDI translator) and the consultants are saying after the translation, the process will delete the original file and only save the translated file. I pushed back stating that we had to keep the original raw data format for various reasons, one being legal. Was I speaking incorrect statements? If not, what is the timeframe an EDI doc, in its raw form, needs to be archived before deletion?
