Hi Francis -- To answer your question. The local Ebiz User Group fizzed out last year. I was one of the officers, but we were just not getting enough interest. Finally, the last straw was a sponsor withdrew the use of a room for our meetings. Note that the meeting on the site was from 2004. www.norcal-ebiz.org.
The Software Developers Forum in the area is very active. www.sdforum.org. They sometimes have some interesting programs. However, EDI is below the radar. They unfortunately dropped the ebiz group and replaced it with web services. Several events I've gone to in that arena are very much sales pitches by the big boys, very junior players that have no clue, or advocates of the XML flavor of the month. The Bay Area RosettaNet group is active (BARD) -- but is focused on RosettaNet. They attract some interesting speakers. Occasionally, I give presentations on Ebiz in concert with other organizations. I'm doing one in the South Bay this summer on "Implementing Oracle Gateway" with the EPIC (Enabling Partners in Consulting) group, and with a corporate Oracle consulting group sponsor. The details have not been finalized. Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, just give me a call or drop me an email.
