As Medicare Part A providers know, Administar and other FI's are now or will be
moving soon to implement the provisions of CR
Transmittal #438. This memo from CMS directs FIs to discontinue sending paper
SPRs to any provider or entity acting on behalf of a
provider (e.g., service bureaus) once the FI has been sending electronic
remittance advice ("the 835") for thirty days. CMS' 'firm'
date for implementation of this directive is July 1, 2005.
If the CMS-provided PC-PRINT software just doesn't get the job done for you,
you should take a look at our firm's Provider Payment
Partner(tm) System by visiting the product web site at
http://www.providerpaymentpartner.com
The PPPS has been around since the *original* HIPAA-implementation deadline
back in October, 2001, and offers multiple reports, a
powerful database search, the ability to mark individual claims within a
remittance for printing, recreate Explanation of Remittance
on demand and much much more. One of the PPPS's standard included reports is
the Medicare Part A SPR (1-3-2005 version) for those
needing the Medicare-specific information.
But the best part is this: the PPPS supports *ANY* remittance created in
compliance with the ANSI X12N X091A1 specification... or to
put that in plain English, "Works with ERAs from all payers."
PPPS Version 3.0 will be announced within the next two weeks (it's in beta
now), but you can get a good feel for the product by
downloading the PPPS Tour from our website; or by requesting a full-featured
time-limited demonstration version.
The PPPS is designed as a low cost provider desktop product (complete price
list posted at the web site) requiring no additional
hardware or software beyond a basic Windows (Win/95 thru Win/XP) system.
OEM and Service Bureau licenses are available; Contact Tal Systems Inc. for
information.
