Hi Jeff,

Our company, Faxinating Solutions, has been involved in processing
documents (PO, Inovices, ASN, Surveys, Health Claims, Psychological
testing, etc) using OCR and ICR (Hand print recognition) for over 14
years.

We have been doing this as a third-party service provider and I can
certainly can give you some insight into some of the pitfalls of
this type of opportunity.

We specialize in integration of faxed or scanned documents and
turning the content into processable transactions such as ANSI
standard X.12 EDI documents, but we also do direct integration into
back end applications such as SAP, Peoplesoft, ACCPAC, Great Plains
and so on.

We have a new application that takes documents from apps such as
Simply Accounting, Quickbooks and Peachtree and treats the data into
a processable transaction without any human intervention. All paper
is eliminated and the transaction is processed in seconds and always
100% accurately.

I don't want to seem to pushy about promoting our services on this
board but I would like to extend my personal services if you would
like to discuss the details of setting up any type of OCR processing
scenario. I would be happy to provide you with my insight and our
experiences over the years in order to help you make your final
decisions.

Good Luck.

Steve Hatajlo

Anyone using any type of (OCR) optical character recognition
solutions to
process inbound transactions into flat files, XML, IDOCs, etc? In
addition
to my below e-mail we are investigating solutions where a trading
partner
can e-mail an attachment and an OCR solution / rules wizard can scan
the
attachment and create a document.
