We sell a lot of software :).

>From what I have seen of OpenAS2, it just doesn't cut it. While I can't
comment on the costs of certification, we have been through the process and
one of the principal benefits is assurance that your solution works with
every other certified solution on the market.

annual maintenance component to them. Not with our AS2 Connector or our AS2
Adapter - it's really free for single partner use.

What would you suggest? Seriously. The AS2 Connector is currently in
prerelease and we would love feedback on a model that would make AS2
integration a no brainer for SMB's. No, we can't do free for everyone as we
have support costs and like you said, certification is expensive. Not only
is there a fee, but it requires a full time employee 6 mo. / year to work
through the constant recertification process.

However we are definitely looking for partners. If you have clients that
require EDI-INT communications or you are interested in embedding a
certified engine into your application, contact me - I'd be happy to speak
with you and work out a mutual win.

Just because I'm in marketing you think I'm trying to sell something?! I'm
trying to save you money here ;).

I agree that it doesn't have to be expensive. There is an OpenAS2 group
that is not Drummond certified. It's free, but you have to roll your own.
So expensive is not the only criteria.
Last time I checked, Drummond was charging over $50K for certification. You
are going to have to sell a lot of software to make back that money...

BTrade and iSoft also had/have very inexpensive AS2 software for a single
partner, which was WalMart. Once they hooked you with the cheap version,
they reeled you in with the cost of additional trading partners. It's so
expensive, that we've had people on this list unable to justify the
additional licenses.

How much does nsoftware charge for a second partner? Third partner?

PS: Normally sales pitches should have a <SALES> prefix in the subject ;-)
