Hello Susan,

We purchased the SAP adapter with GIS and it works great. You could as an
alternate not purchase the GIS adapter and simply export your inbound files
to a directory and have a 3rd party scheduler program call an FTP script to
FTP the docs into SAP and execute an RFC. For your outbound documents, SAP
can export a file (IDOCS) to a directory and then you could use the FSA
(file system adapter) in GIS to pick up the documents from the directory.

Regards,
Jeff

Subject: [EDI-L] GIS

Hi -

I'm writing on a RFP for middleware to integrate messages between SAP
and Oracle. Sterling gave me adaptor prices for adaptors for both
Oracle and SAP for real-time and batch processing. Do any of you have
experience with the GIS adaptors for either SAP or Oracle? Or did you
develop an alternate process? I know in other projects the team has
written daemons to see if a file was in a directory, & if it is there it
kicks off a process. These can be run every 5 minutes. This seems good
enough for "real time almost" processing. Any recommendations?

Regards,

      Susan Stecklair
