it really depends on where the data is going ... for example, if you're creating idocs, you want a mapper that can do that very painlessly. if you're going to jde, you'll want something that integrates with database tables easily. and you -probably- want a translator that runs on the same platform as your erp system. running edi on a pc and jde on unix can be a real pain in the ***.
