Your AS2 process should include an interface for monitoring those transactions
that have been acknowledged via a positive MDN, those that are still pending an
MDN and those that have triggered a negative MDN or have 'expired' based on
your settings (number of retries, etc). If you receive a positive MDN from
your trading partner that is proof that they received the transaction and were
able to decrypt and verify the sender.

You have no more visibility to transactions that you haven't received from a
partner with AS2 than with a VAN. You can't know what you don't have if you
don't have it :O). Generally speaking it should be the sending partner's
responsibility to ensure that they have received a positive MDN back for every
outbound transmission.

That's what the acknowledgement is for.

You tell them if they don't acknowledge your sent docs within a certain
period, and vice versa. Or are you talking about something else?

Subject: [EDI-L] EDI AS2 audits

Since the discussion is on AS2 and VANS....

We are moving more customers to AS2 from the VAN and I am concerned
about monitoring the success of our transmissions inbound and outbound
without robust software. Wal-mart has a website where I can verify that
we received all data.

How do most people monitor their AS2 transmissions?
