TO: All Facility Providers who deal with California Medicaid
FROM: Michael Mattias, Tal Systems Inc.

California Medicaid ("Medi-Cal" ) has adopted a special requirement for
providers submitting paper COB claims to Medi-Cal for Part
B services when Medicare Part A was the primary payer.

In summary, Medi-Cal will process these (paper) COB claims only when the
"PC-PRINT Single Claim Report" for the Medicare Part A
adjudication is attached. "PC-PRINT" is the free software provided by CMS for
Medicare Part A remittances, and is used by many
Medicare Part A Providers.

You can download complete details from Medi-Cal in the document at:

http://files.medi-cal.ca.gov/pubsdoco/bulletins/part1/archive/pdf/part120050901.pdf.

The Provider Payment Partner (tm) System has replicated this report and added
it to the base system; facility providers such as
nursing homes, hospitals and hospices who use the PPPS would no longer require
PC-PRINT be installed for the sole purpose of
preparing a COB claim for Medi-Cal.

The PPPS web site at http://www.providerpaymentpartner.com contains complete
product specifications, features and benefits of the
PPPS; a price list; and links from which you may download a "Tour"
application demonstrating the key screens and reports
available and/or or arrange for a full-featured time-limited evaluation version
of this software.

The Provider Payment Partner System has been asssiting facility, professional
and DME providers with the processing of ANSI EDI '835
Electronic Remittance Advice' documents since the orginal HIPAA "deadline" of
October 1, 2001. The PPPS is available exclusively
through Tal Systems Inc.
