Don't know if TLW looks or functions anything like TLE (Enterprise) but a few years ago we did something similar with an inbound document using TLE (on Unix).
Basically, we translated the document and created a DELIMITED output file (using TLE-Workbench). We than created a TLE-Application which sent the delimited output file its appropriate TLE-Communication. The TLE-Communication was set to run "External Comm." with the "Protocol Properties -> Transmit Command" set to execute a Unix shell script. Upon execution, the Unix script FTPed the delimited output file to a share point. On the share point our NT folk setup a script which, upon arrival of the FTP file, ran an Excel macro (VBA) that read the delimited output file (as text) and populated the spreadsheet. Finally, the NT script sent an email notification informing the recipients that the spreadsheet was ready for review. Setup took some coordination, but it was worth it just so that it could run un-attended. -----Original Message----- From: avataredi [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 10:09 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [EDI-L] Inovis TLW - Inbound 830 into Excel We're trying to convert an inbound 830 into an excel spreadsheet. The 830 is not mapped into the backend system, so it just comes into TLW. We'd like to have an automated process whereby when the 830 comes in, it is automatically converted to excel and emailed to a group of people. Any ideas how to do this? Your help is appreciated! .
